PSW Return of Service $5000 Incentive

Personal Support Worker Return of Service $5000 Incentive

The Personal Support Worker Return of Service (PSW ROS) Initiative involves supplying a $5,000 incentive for newly graduated personal support workers (PSWs).

This incentive is for anyone who has obtained their PSW certification on or after April 1, 2020.

The catch is that graduates need to commit to a six-month commitment and employment with a home care or long-term care facility.

This new Personal Support Worker Return of Service Program is aimed at providing training and subsequently recruiting 2000 graduates.

Who is Providing the Bonus?

Funding for the Personal Support Worker return of service incentive is provided by the Ontario Ministry of Health or Ontario Health.

Recruits need to understand that the incentive in its entirety will be provided across two installments.

The first payment of $2,000 will be handed out after two months of completion and the last $3,000 upon successful completion of the six-month commitment period.

PSWs need to fulfill the full-time job requirements set up by their community care employer in order to receive the bonus.
