WHAT DOES A PSW DO?

Due to the fact that PSWs are not regulated and work in a wide variety of settings, their job duties vary greatly.

Here’s a comprehensive list of tasks that PSWs may carry out in various settings.

If you are just beginning to consider this career path, our list of qualities that every PSW must possess is definitely worth checking out.

DIFFERENT JOB TITLES

Believe it or not, there are more than twenty job titles that are used instead of the widely used title of Personal Support Worker.

This is because there is no central regulating body, such as College of Nurses (CNO), for PSWs. There is no standard title that one must use.

We have compiled a list of more than twenty job titles used to hire PSWs.

HOW MUCH DOES A PSW GET PAID?

There is a wide range for what PSWs can expect to get paid. It can range anywhere from as low as the minimum wage (yes, you read it right… minimum wage) to as high as in the range of 23 or 24 dollars per hour.

A Personal Support Worker’s salary largely depends upon the type of organization they work with.

Hospitals tend to be the highest paying.
