It is located in downtown Toronto, in the heart of the communities of South Annex, College, Queen and King Street West. 

It is an academic health centre, and has 272 beds. 

Toronto Western Hospital provides treatment to both outpatients and inpatients, in several different areas such as:

  • Surgery,
  • Medical,
  • Critical care, and
  • Neuroscience (in the Krembill Neuroscience Centre).

PSW DUTIES AT TORONTO WESTERN HOSPITAL

Individuals holding Personal Support Worker jobs at Toronto Western Hospital are responsible for the following duties:

  • Carrying out basic functions of patient care, which support the implementation of the multidisciplinary care plan.
  • Observing infection control and safety procedures, in order to ensure the highest standard of patient safety/care.
  • Carrying out cross-functional and other duties in line with the job classification or clinical speciality, as needed.
  • Ensuring the existence of a safe and clean patient care/treatment environment.
  • Assisting with the process of patient information collection/documentation.
  • Carrying out departmental duties, observing all confidentiality policies.
  • Assisting with ensuring the satisfaction of patient nutritional needs.
  • Contributing to the process of patient assessment.
  • Carrying out transportation function.
